The camp host, Dave, what an incredibly helpful and nice guy. He made what was a nice vacation a truely enjoyable experience.

Clean quiet campground in a magical place! Our camp host David was very helpful.

I love this campground and the surrounding area. I would have given 5 stars if we were not subjected to some folks blasting country music while their children ran around shrieking at the top of their lungs. Overall the 3 nights spent there were pleasant and the hiking and 4 wheeling were incredible. I will be back.

About

Hope Valley Campground sits at about 7,300 feet on the edge of its namesake valley in a stand of Jeffrey and lodgepole pines, roughly 40 miles about a 40-minute drive south of Lake Tahoe via Highways 89 and 88. The site was completely reconstructed and now offers 21 well-defined campsites: 19 that accommodate both RVs and tents and 2 tent-only sites, with a mix of single- and double-family layouts. Each site includes a picnic table, campfire ring, grill, food storage locker and a tent pad; vault toilets and drinking water are available on site, and firewood can be purchased from the host.
