Very nice campground with some fun trails near by. Only downside is the sites are pretty close together, but other than that it was awesome!
Karla B ★ 5 · Sep 2025
The facilities were clean. The campground was nearly empty midweek during our visit. We had a great family camping experience.

Tucked away a couple of miles off the highway on Haypress Creek, this campground is laid out about perfectly. It’s in the midst of some steep terrain and heavy tree cover, so cell reception and STARLINK use are severely impaired, but you get used to that in no time. A place to relax and enjoy some hiking and fishing.

Wild Plum Campground sits on the banks of Haypress Creek in the North Yuba River area, a quiet pocket of hardwood and pine where early gold-dredging rocks still stud the forest floor. The site is managed by Tahoe National Forest and offers 47 campsites in total: 24 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 23 tent-only sites, so party size and rig type are easy to match to a spot. Many sites have creek views and each campsite includes a picnic table and a campfire ring; vault toilets and drinking water are available on site.
