Renita L ★ 5 · Sep 2025Finally got a new refrigerator/freezer and stove, and oven that works! Great cabin, rustic but big.
Gregory M ★ 5 · Sep 2025This was a great location for all 12 men in the family to spend a long weekend at. The cabin is rustic, but comfortable. The location associated to the river, and the fly fishing were awesome. The kitchen stalked with pots, pans and utensils was a bonus. The propane lamps keep the cabin warm. Even with temps down to the 50s at night we kept windows open, and it felt great. Everyone in our group wants to return. For $105 a night you can't beat it. With the current fire restrictions, we used our own propane grills and griddles outside on the porch to prepare all of our meals. We look forward to returning.
MacAdam L ★ 4 · Aug 2025Great place, great location on river. Only downside is that when we were there (early August), had a lot of "looky-Lou's" wandering around the cabin, wanting tours. At least two or three per day. While harmless, we had our kids and it was a bit unnerving to always have to be looking over our shoulders if some stranger was going to be poking their head into the cabin.

The two-level, 2,000 sq. ft. structure was built in the early 1930s by the Sacramento Box and Lumber Company, later bought in 1936 by local businessman Harvey West as a family summer retreat; its history is visible in the large great room and stone fireplace that anchor the interior. The cabin sleeps 12 in existing beds (one queen, two doubles, four singles, and two cots) and can hold up to eight more people on the great…
